Skip Hop Nursery Style Diaper Pail - Grey

I bought this pail a little over two years ago when I was expecting my last baby. We had a small nursery and I needed a compact pail that fit in the very narrow space between the changing station and the wall.

I haven't had a single issue with smells - in fact, when we moved last month, the pail was inadvertently put into storage with a nearly-full bag of diapers. It was in there for two weeks and there was absolutely no smell. I didn't even know there were diapers in it till I went to put a new diaper in it and saw them! The storage caddy is helpful, if slightly inconvenient to have to remove when it's time to change the bag.

The only significant downside is that there is some wasted space in the bag because there has to be room for the second airlock door to drop down. This is a design feature that could be improved.

We got this diaper pail 2 years ago for our first child and have loved it. It works well and does a good job of keeping odors locked away inside (just hold your breath for a few seconds when you "flush" the diaper down). We got another pail for our second child and that one stopped latching for some reason after a week... very annoying. After a waiting few weeks, customer service got back to me and did issue a credit for a new pail. This one is working better but the part that drops the diapers doesn't go all the way perpendicular so sometimes the diaper gets stuck there. I found if I hold the button down it is more likely to drop on down and the times I have to open it up to manually push the diaper through are few and far between. So... I guess I'd still recommend this pail, but be aware you may encounter technical difficulties. In general we have to empty the pail about once a week. Sometimes after 5-6 days. I do love that you can use normal trash bags.

I chose this diaper pail for a few reasons. I love that it can use regular trash bags, it doesn't seem to have problems with condensation like a other brands I looked at and I like the idea of the air lock. I'm thinking I may have issues with the latch that let's the diapers drop down as it doesn't open very wide at all which may be annoying once baby is using bigger diapers. I have ready in other reviews that some people have been able to fix that problem. I'm not sure how they did it but I plan to try.

I had to return mine due to recovering a clearly used product. Still waiting on my reimbursement actually. But I went to a third party store and bought a new one in box, even opened it and checked it out and everything was good. My son isn't born yet but upon reading other comments and doing some scent tests at home I could see why bigger diapers probably don't go down the Shute. That said I think it's an okay product it looks really nice, when it does work as intended it's great and it's light enough to carry easily. I also really like the storage tray I keep things inside of it ranging from disposal bags for diapers to cleaning wipes to wipe down the product. It's fairly important id say to anyone buying this that it is a trash can for poop and in that you do have to change the liner. I don't think there's any product on the market that will make poop not smell bad or not be poop. We put a air freshener pod in ours and the scent issue wasn't an issue for us. I would recommend it but hopefully the company doesn't mess up your shipping like me. Thanks

I received this diaper pail as a baby shower gift from my list however the durability is a 2/5 rating and does not lock in the smell as advertised however it is easy to clean. You will need at the least an 8 gallon diaper/trash bag.

I am writing this review after almost a year of use and the top just popped off completely, in an attempt to toss out the diaper bag that was halfway full.

I bought this about a month ago it works great but doesn't lock the smell in as i assumed . Not pleased with that lock chamber

I started using this not too long ago, collected maybe half a bag full of diapers, and started smelling a foul odor in the room. The smell was coming from the pail.

This is my favorite diaper pail! It locks in the stink so you can enjoy your baby's nursery without the smell of dirty diapers.

I bought this just about a week before my baby was born. I love it! There's absolutely no smell from dirty diapers! Very easy to use.

I got two of these when we got close to the arrival of our son. They worked great for the first week when he was in premie diapers. After that, diapers will not go down when we push the button and the door will not stay closed without locking. We take out the bag every 4 days and still can't handle the smell from this bin. Such a waste of money- I could have just bought a used diaper genie at a thrift store.

Buy this item and it was the best decision, it is super useful and wonderful.

Overall this is an ok diaper pail. it holds odors well, takes regular size garbage bags so you don't have to buy the special types and has a area to hold wipes with clear box so you can see when you are going to run out. The downside is the little door that opens up doesn't open up all the way. still can't tell if that is how it;s suppose to work or if it is a defect. i usually have to push diaper down into the can also. the slim size is great profile for small spaces.

This diaper pail appears to be 'The One' but looks are clearly not everything. Within a week to easy close lid broke and I have to lock it to close it. I reached out to customer service about this the day I noticed it happening and never heard back. The fact it took regular garbage bags over the special bags others use I thought was going to be amazing. And the sealing lid for odor control.....what odor control?! The waft is horrendous and I change the bag at least weekly. I loved the idea of this pail so much I purchased one for my cousin and one for my friend for their baby showers. I was so jealous of it that I then purchased a THIRD for my 8 month old only to be terribly disappointed and mad that I bought such an expensive diaper pail as a gift for TWO people. My six year old diaper genie was doing a better job -- who keeps a diaper genie for six years?

Thought this would be a great trash can for diapers and I was wrong. When you press the button to drop the diaper into the bag it will only open partially and u can't even fit a newborn diaper into the hole without picking up the entire bin and shaking it. Super convenient at 2am.

I bought this a few weeks ago so I've only been using it a little while, but so far love it! It is super user friendly and even has a lock to keep my toddler out of it. I love that I can use regular trash bags and save money on buying special fit bags/systems. It keeps smells at bay when opening... love that! It doesn't take up much room and I love the extra space up top for wipes or other items needed for diaper change time. I use it for my wipes. Esthetically would go with any nursery theme. Overall great product and recommended for any nursery.

We just got this and unpacked it and were so thrilled to use it.

1. It never says to take off the INVISIBLE CLEAR TAPE before trying to press to open the lid. Why???
2. We tried with ALL sorts of objects, weighted diapers, etc and CANNOT get anything to go down when we press the button for the hatch door. The door simply does not go down enough! Why such a poorly designed mechanism? Why not an open and close with a lever system to move a door to the side, or even a pedal? This is so faulty and I am afraid that I made such a big mistake with this purchase.

I purchased this in March. I have found with my daughter over the last 4 months that it is not that great. It won't stay closed unless I lock the top. And the smell is awful. I thought it would do a better job of keeping it contained.

I bought this about a month ago. I like how it has a area for wipes / diapers etc. not impressed that it hold orders ... I don't even use it for poop diapers and it still has an order.

I purchased this item and thought it was a bit pricey but after using it I have decided it is well worth the money. Any new mom would love this item.
