Skip Hop Cry-Activated Baby Soother - Sloth

I bought this for my niece and it was the best gift ever !!

We have had the sloth for 2 days, my son received it for Christmas hes only 8 weeks old , the heartbeat feature seemed to really calm him down. All of a sudden after 2nd day using the sloth it plays for 1 minute than shuts off. We changed the batteries, anything we could think of and nothing is working. This defeats the purpose of the soothing sloth. I don't want to go and buy another one if this will happen again. My son seemed to be soother for the 2 days of use.

This is just the cutest thing ever. It's a cry activated soothing sloth and it's absolutely adorable. Bought this as a gift for friends who were expecting and they loved it ... Probably not as much as me but whatever lol

I love the idea of this product but it is not loud enough at all so it sort of defeats the purpose, sadly I can't return it and am now stuck with a very expensive teddy. I was looking forward to this as everything else about it seems ok

Only plays for 20 minutes, not even one baby sleep cycle, not long enough at all.
No volume adjustment and volume is too low, not loud enough for car or pram use.
Velcro very poor and does not hold to itself around pram.
Toy is very cute which is why I bought it but completely impractical if looking to use as portable white noise.

I have read that newborns need contrasting colors like black and white to hold their attention so this was a great option for sound soothers. I love that its cry activated and it stops my daughter from crying pretty quickly since she seems to really enjoy soothing music. Love this!

My daughter is on the older age range of this product so I wasn't sure how she'd like it at first, but she really likes it! We keep this hanging by her crib-the magnetic clasps make it super easy and it actually stays put. It's actually to turn on and off, and I like the cry-activated feature. Most of all the voice feature is super easy to record and convenient to have.

This thing is alright, but extremely confusing to use, even with the instructions in front of you. Also it's not padded enough for how heavy it is, so your kids are going to hurt themselves if they throw it at each other, or swing it at their faces.

This is such an amazing idea and toy!!! It is so smart! It helps the parents and it ia so cute! Very worth it the price and it is an amazing gift! I love this brand and you can trust it!! Easy to use!

This cute little panda is my nephew's new favorite mate. I love the voice recorder. I've saved me singing on it and now he can listen. The panda also comes with soothing music and attaches to cribs, playpen etc. Soft and small enough to take on the go perhaps while traveling to comfort little ones .

My baby and I both love this panda cry activated soother! He'll lie still for a while just staring at it. It comes with all the bells and whistles including being able to record my voice, smart sensor, and plays lullabies and soothing sounds. Works like a charm when he gets fussy!

I was really impressed by the good quality and sound of the Skip Hop - Cry-Activated Soother - Panda because it actually lets me record my own voice so that my baby can hear it when she cries. The Panda Soother has its own lullabies and other soothing sounds but I liked that I could record my own little song for my baby. You can setup the Panda sound module so that when the baby cries it can automatically play to sooth your baby, and the volume on the module is not too loud. Now I did have a problem insert the module into the back of the Panda pouch, so I was able to hang the panda on the edge of the crib, but I did place it near the baby, far enough to were she wouldn't be able to grab it yet. Over all this is a very nice Cry-Activated Panda soother!

I bought this a month ago and am happy so that I did. This is what I want with my newborn. It quickly works wonder when she starts to cry. It is very loud. With my five month old sharing a room with his sibling it makes it difficult to use properly. And I can hear it through the baby monitors very loudly making it hard to hear anything else.

My Aunt bought this for my baby. Just replaced the batteries after piling the tab. Now my sloth is stuck in demo mode. I'm very disappointed.

We had this set up and it turned on when our baby started to cry, it worked great. Though it's really not loud at all. Second time, it plays a song less than 2 minutes. Worked well once.

Don't purchase this as a soother/ noise machine for baby. The sound plays for 20 min max. There's no way to increase the duration and 20 min is not enough time to soothe a baby. Ive not been able to get the cry activator to work. Sloth is on the crib next to baby's head and not sure if it's not picking up the sound as a cry or what. I've not tried to record my voice but there's no point of the cry activation doesn't work. Additionally as others have noted, there's a blue light that indicates the feature is on. This light is very bright in a dark room. My baby is 6 weeks old so his crib is in my bedroom and the blue light is intense and it stimulates the baby. Do not buy this, I wish I hadn't.

This was a complete disappointment. I followed instructions but couldn't get it to record anything. It plays music but for such a short amount of time that it doesn't help my baby settle down at all. When the cry activated feature is on, a blue light blinks that is so bright it keeps my baby more alert and fussy. After several desperate attempts to get this to help sooth my baby, I gave up. I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

I bought this almost 4 months ago and the motor has gone and even with new batteries it just whines instead of making the correct noises. I have also gone through over 48 batteries and was unimpressed with the battery life. I guess it is now just a ridiculously expensive stuffy that no longer does anything else.

I love sloths and if I have anything to do about it my grandson will too! This super soft sloth is a great addition to our "let try to sleep" routine. It responds to cries with either sounds or songs. You can also record your voice but we haven't tried it yet. The sounds seem to do the trick! Definitely recommend.

This is SO adorable and innovative! We loved this for our little guy and would make a great baby shower gift! It is also very easy to travel with, and be there for him when he was out of reach - example, while driving.

I'm very happy with how well the Skip Hop Sloth Cry-Activated Soother works to comfort my son. The 3 lullabies and 3 sounds are so soft and soothing to him. I love that I can record my voice so that he thinks I'm always right there. That calms him temporarily as I'm walking to his room. It works so well at sensing that he's crying and has worked everytime. It's helped us all have a more peaceful experience during bedtime!

We are going On vacation, out of the country for a WEEK and leaving our little guy behind. We thought something like this would be helpful to keep a consistent routine and let him hear our voices while we are gone... we have been practicing and love it so much because most importantly our baby IS soothed by this adorable sloth and he enjoys snuggling it when its not hanging on his crib at bed time. This sloth is beyond adorable. His sounds are so soothing for baby. The voice recording only makes him even better. He is a nice large size that makes him an adorable addition to the crib decor. Portable too, so he goes on many outings with us as well.

This little sloth is so adorable. With the soothing noises it helps comfort baby to sleep. The cry activated soother option is pretty neat - make sure you turn it off when you leave the room with baby though. It is sensitive! We were in the living room, baby cried, and it turned on in his room. I am not a fan of the fact when the cry sensor is on there is a flashing blue light. In a dark room it is pretty obvious and I think it bothered my baby. I also wish the buttons were easier to distinguish from each other. Trying to fumble around in the dark you can't tell what you're pushing. Otherwise we love this thing!

It took me a bit to figure out how to record ...I'm not super tech savvy. But after doing it the first time, it makes sense and seems easy. It is good to hang this on the outside of the crib...so baby can't grab and pull it down. The volume is a bit high on it and I wish I could turn it down to a more quiet, soothing volume. Occasionally, cries do not activate it. Most of the time they do but there's been a hand full of times I've heard the cry but the sloth doesn't play music.

I can't say enough about our Cry-activated soother! It's seriously the cutest thing. The sloth is super soft and just adorable. I love how it just hangs on my baby's crib. It will start playing soothing sounds to calm my little guy down. I love how it just works for my baby's cries and not any other sound around it. I have both the unicorn and the sloth but I think the Skip Hop Sloth Cry Activated Soother is my favorite. He has an unbelievably sweet face. It works as if it were magic and honestly soothes my little one back to sleep with lullabies (music without words), nature sounds (waves, heartbeat, etc.), and my own recorded message. I sang a funny little song I made up. I think the sounds and music only play for about 5 minutes or so but it's just long enough to distract him from his fussing and help him drift back to sleep. The sound module is held in place with a Velcro strap for safety but can be removed for changing batteries or washing. THIS AMAZING SOOTHER IS MACHINE WASHABLE!!!!! I highly recommend.

The sounds are like white noise, baby heartbeat, and mothers heartbeat.You can record a message for your little one to.
